Roller Skates Aren't For Sissy's

Remember that Christmas when you were around six or seven.. the one where you come flying around the corner toward that pile of presents about 4 AM on Christmas and there they are... all white and shinning in the moonlight... right there, under the tree.. Brand new skates.. (okay so girls get white skates, just imagine it) and that most precious skate key that you immediately find an old shoe lace and slip the key around your neck.. the safest place any child knows to keep a key.
That's kind of the feeling many people had when they came around the corner after the election and there was our shinny new president...just what we had been wanting. All the joy and pride was endless.. Here was a man, a new kind of man that promised us everything we wanted to hear.
Everyone was so happy in the neighbor hood.. you got new skates.. and you could fly on the wind with a great big smile....you had your key and the world was the best place ever.
A few weeks later you loose your key... you try one of dad's tools, but nothing is just right.. and you find yourself sitting alone while everyone else is out there having fun... Then you notice that these skates are painted to look new and are actually not what you expected at all.. There is rust and even parts that are not original.. but you still are happy because these were the ones you asked for.. and we have been taught to be grateful for what we have.
This is the feeling people have now about obama... he told us what we wanted to hear.. even if some of it was not the truth.. the part about fundamentally changing our country.. that was not what we wanted. .We don't want to be threatened, we don't want to live in daily fear of death camps or death panels. .. We don't want to rob the country's future and spend it now... and we are tired of the repainted mis match bunch of parts that we ended up with.. all in all we would have been better with a bike.
